Frequently asked questions

Which input formats are supported?
The converter accepts any image your browser can decode: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, and SVG. If your browser can display it, the tool can convert it.
Which output formats are available?
You can convert to JPEG, PNG, and WebP. These three formats cover virtually every use case — JPEG for photos, PNG for graphics with transparency, WebP for smaller web images.
What does the Quality slider do?
For JPEG and WebP output, quality controls the compression level. 85% is a good balance between file size and visual fidelity. PNG is lossless, so there is no quality slider for it.
Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The entire conversion happens inside your browser using the Canvas API. Your image data never leaves your device.
Why convert to WebP?
WebP images are typically 25–35% smaller than equivalent JPEG or PNG files at the same visual quality. Converting to WebP reduces page load times when used on websites.
